Dear Rice Faculty and Staff:
As we prepare to start the fall semester, it’s important we all do our part to ensure the health and safety of our entire community.
In order to return to campus safely, you’ll need to coordinate with, and get approval from, your supervisor/department chair. One of the steps toward getting that approval is completing the COVID-19 Return to Campus Online Program. This consists of watching one (1) four-minute video, then reading the pledge and agreeing to Protect Myself, Protect Others and Protect Our Rice Community. This requirement should take less than 10 minutes of your time, and it is required before you physically return to campus. Students will participate in a similar program upon their return to campus.
For those that have already been coming to campus (i.e. for lab reactivations), please complete the course by July 31, 2020.
Our Rice values are Responsibility, Integrity, Community and Excellence. It is imperative that every member of the Rice community:
*Take responsibility for practicing the appropriate behaviors to reduce the spread of COVID-19: practice physical distancing, wear a face covering, wash your hands properly and frequently, and practice good personal hygiene.
*Demonstrate integrity by honoring the agreement made to Protect Myself, Protect Others and Protect Our Rice Community.
*Focus on the greater good of the Rice community over personal preference.
*Demonstrate excellence in carrying out our mission.
Thank you for helping keep all of us safe.
Kevin Kirby, Vice President, Administration
Reginald DesRoches, Provost
