I am writing to you today about the Super Bowl, which is coming up this weekend.
Super Bowl Sunday is not a national holiday, but many of us traditionally celebrate it like one with big parties attended by a lot of friends. But this year, health experts are urging us to break from this tradition in order to prevent another potential spike of COVID-19. If you are planning to watch the game, please keep these safety measures in mind:
- Limit your watch party to people in your immediate household
- If you must gather with others, do it outside or in a well-ventilated area
- Stay away from bars and restaurants
- Do not share snacks
- Stay masked
As a reminder, if you’re experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or you believe you’ve been exposed to someone who’s positive, do not sign up through the regular testing process: https://coronavirus.rice.edu/testing-resources. There is a special process for testing anyone with symptoms or post-exposure. Fill out a health report form and someone from the Rice Contract Tracing Team will guide you through the testing process.
