COVID-19 Update: January 31, 2022

COVID-19 response weekly update

Dear colleagues,

The current COVID-19 wave continues to decline, and thus we have a policy change announcement this week.

Indoor dining returns today without any restrictions in all venues. Willy’s Pub and Valhalla will return to normal operations.

The Dean of Undergraduates will announce any changes to alcohol consumption in the residential colleges by mid-week.

We anticipate additional updates to testing frequency and indoor masking policies in the next few weeks as the environment continues to improve.

Our order for KN95 masks has arrived. You will be notified when your order is ready for pick up at Delivery Services in the Post Office.

A reminder that everyone must submit a copy of their vaccination card that includes information about your booster shot. Employees should use this link. Students can fill out the form at this link. To complete the registry:

  • Fill in the Rice SSO login information.
  • Instead of starting a new form, scroll down to your previous entry and click on it.
  • From there, locate the “edit” button in the bottom right-hand corner.
  • The booster section should be at the very bottom.
  • Enter the date of your most recent vaccine.
  • Upload a new photo of your card with your booster noted.
  • After loading information and a new card image, click the bottom right-hand “submit” button.

Vaccine Clinic. A reminder that a vaccine clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Thursday in the Grand Hall. You can walk in and register onsite.
