COVID-19 response weekly update: Policy on Gathering Size

Dear colleagues,

Effective today, June 21, 2021, we are removing COVID-related restrictions limiting the size of indoor gatherings. All other normal capacity restrictions (such as those imposed under the fire code) and pre-existing approval processes remain in force. There may a limited number of pandemic-related restrictions imposed on a case-by-case basis in which the characteristics of the space are not conducive to the activity or a higher density. (See the June 15 note from the Dean of Undergraduates and the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.) We don't expect these COVID-space-related special circumstances to arise often and they will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by Rice Crisis Management.

As a reminder, we have already eliminated the gathering size limits on all outdoor activities.

All campus COVID-19 policies now in effect can be found here.
