Operational Timeline

To provide as much information as we can — as quickly as possible — we’ll release details by topic every Monday and throughout each week as necessary. All information within those messages will be included under the Communications section.

  • July 21: Preparing Campus for Phase II
    Engineered plexiglass barriers are installed in classrooms, buses, and other high contact areas. Disinfectant, thermometers, toilet seat covers, and masks are distributed around campus.
  • July 22: Employee Training Begins
    Faculty and staff are be required to complete the CANVA training for returning to campus agreeing to protect themselves and others.
  • July 27: Testing Begins
    College Presidents and O-Week Coordinators begin to return to campus. Students will be tested prior to reporting to their room assignments.
  • August 10: COVID Occupancy Signage
    COVID occupancy signage installation complete for on campus classrooms and common gathering spaces .
  • August 12–14: New Student Move-In
    Houston-area new students drop off their belongings and then return to campus on the morning of Sunday, August 16.
  • August 15–16: New Student Move-In
    Out-of-town new students bring their belongings to campus for move-in.
  • August 16: O-Week Begins
    O-Week 2020 will be presented in in-person and online formats for new students on and off-campus. The final schedule is still being formalized.
  • August 21: PCF Structures In-Place
    Provisional campus facilities structure construction will be complete providing extra space for students and faculty on campus.
  • August 24: First Day of Classes
    Classes begin on-campus and online for all students.
